Our Founding Members


Beth Drucker

Beth has been an avid cyclist her whole life. She has bike-toured extensively in the US and in many European and Asian countries. Working with local schools, Beth founded District 39 School’s Bike Hike to Highcrest program to promote safe cycling for students. Beth has lived in Wilmette for 30 years with husband Harry. She especially likes to bike on quiet country roads. 

Mary Ellen Fausone, M.D.

Mary Ellen started biking with friends after moving to Wilmette 24 years ago, and never stopped. She is a strong believer in the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor activity, and is particularly interested in making it easier and safer for people to incorporate walking and biking into their everyday lives.

Rachel Goodman, M.D.

Rachel enjoys biking, walking, hiking, swimming, and kayaking. She is a pediatrician and has become very interested in advocating for the health benefits of biking and walking to school safely. She and Dr. Anne Nagle recently received an IDOT Safe Routes to School grant to improve conditions for biking and walking in the Avoca School District 37. She has lived in Wilmette for 15 years with her husband and two teenage sons. You might see her riding around town on her eBike.

Ken Obel

Ken has been cycling avidly for over four decades, spanning college racing, international bike touring, commuting on his trusty Brompton, and club riding around the North Shore. When not on two wheels, he can be found taking long walks around our lovely village and experiencing cities on foot. Proud of his advocacy work, including the successful effort to extend bike lanes from Wilmette to the Lake County border, Ken is excited to work with his fellow residents in support of Wilmette’s renewed efforts to make biking and walking more convenient, safe, and enjoyable.

Anne Nagle, M.D.

Anne enjoys all things outdoors.  As a retired Emergency Medicine physician, Anne has become a local and national advocate for the promotion of safe opportunities to walk and bicycle as a means to one’s best health.  She was a fellow in America Walks 2017 Walking College.  She is a Master Gardener and an Openlands TreeKeeper.  She leads weekly walking tours at the Chicago Botanic Garden.   Anne has been a resident of Wilmette for 25 years. She lives with her husband, Michael.

Tim Perry

Tim has been on a bike for as long as he can remember. He has ridden his bike all over the U.S. and still thinks the beautiful towns of the North Shore provide some of the best routes for riders of all ages and abilities.That’s why he has worked with the Village of Wilmette and Wilmette Park District for the last 10 years to promote safe cycling in our area.

Piper Rothschild

Piper walks or bike through Wilmette and beyond everyday. As a 35-year Wilmette resident and longtime community volunteer, she values advocacy and collaboration as effective tools to improve our Village.
